Basic math, know what a power is.
Description
In this course you will learn how to understand exponential notation, how to convert it to decimal notation and Vice versa. The course is divided to 2 parts. Part I is divided to 6 chapters as follows:
1.Chapter 1 introduces the concept of Exponential notation
2.Chapter 2 explains what powers of 10 are
3.Chapter 3 teaches you how to convert powers of 10 to Decimal notation
4.Chapter 4 teaches you how to convert Exponential notation to Decimal notation
5.Chapter 5 demonstrates how to apply the Exponential notation in your calculator
6.And in chapter 6 you have exercises to practice plus full solutions.
Part I is essential for grasping the meaning of exponential notated numbers. This is a very common notation seen in many problems, so you need to understand its meaning.
Part II on the other hand is optional. You can definitely do without it, but it can be useful in some cases.
Part II is divided to 2 chapters:
1.Chapter 1 explains how to convert from Decimal notation to Exponential notation
2.Chapter 2 has exercises plus full solutions.
At the end of this course you should be able to understand numbers in the exponential notation, convert them to decimal notation and Vice versa.
The ideal student can be anyone who is seeking to understand Exponential notation, has Elementary math knowledge and knows what a power is. Since different schools around the world teach different levels of math for a specific grade, I estimate that the minimum requirements for a school pupil is to be at least in the 7th grade.
